Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Free Scran Programme Launches Today

We have been hard at work crafting our Free Food Programme here at the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Branch of Serve The People International. Yesterday we went out and purchased the food needed to supply a small amount of people with one week’s food. Already we have pre-subscriptions. A neighbour of mine asked if I was worried about ‘competition’ with the local food bank. I think it’s quite telling he immediately understood the foodbank system to be an industry, as that is exactly what it is. I will not go into to much detail here because our comrade, Emily, has written a good article also on this site, about it.

The parcels contain several portions of:
Rice
Pasta
Spaghetti
As well as tins of
Soup
Beans
Meatballs
Tuna
Sardines

And additional extras, such as sauces and chocolate bars, learned from requests during my time working for Serve The People England in their Lee Park Free Food Programme.
It’s horrific how people have to survive on handouts. That’s why Serve The People is determined to create self-sustaining People’s Programmes, designed to meet the material needs of the people where state and capital have merely worsened the situation. You can help us get closer to this goal, as well as supporting our future Programmes by donating via our linktree at http://linktr.ee/stpinternational.

You can also speak to us during opening hours of ACE Compendium in Newmilns — check their website at acecompendium.com. We will be publishing leaflets explaining the Programme as soon as possible. In the meantime we have an FAQ on the site, or you can speak to one of our representatives, including myself in-person for more information or to donate. Please do not hesitate to reach out — it is your entitlement as a human being to food, and we hope we can go some, very small way, to fulfilling that basic need for you.
